We are delighted to invite all Upper Coomera State College Junior School students to join in the 2025 Premier's Reading Challenge.
Reading plays an important part in students' lives during their school years and beyond. It allows children to actively engage their imagination and opens up a world of educational opportunities.
Since the program's inception in 2006, more than 22 million books have been read, and in 2024, approximately 216,000 school, early childhood and individual readers participated in the challenge reading more than 1.9 million books throughout the PRC reading period. What an incredible result.
The reading period for the 2025 Premier's Reading Challenge for UCSC students commences on 6 May and closes Friday 22 August. All students wishing to go in the draw to win a Book Fair voucher must have their completed PRC record sheets in by 29 July, one winner per year level. This date 29 July is the deadline for winning the vouchers. Students may continue to keep reading books up until the PRC closes. I will still be collected record sheet until the closure date 22 August.
Each year the Premier invites all state and non-state school students to take on the challenge: Prep should read or listen to at least 20 books.
Years 1-4 should read at least 20 books
Years 5 to 6 should read at least 15 books (as their books should be longer in length)
However, we know at UCSC we can smash those targets and read many books before the end of the challenge! So if you completely fill out one form, please return it to your child's teacher and get another so you can add to your total and the overall total for your class and the school!
Every student who completes the challenge will receive a Certificate of Achievement signed by the Premier David Crisafulli. Students who participate but don't complete the challenge receive a Certificate of Participation from the school.
The Challenge is on! Which class will read the most books over the challenge? Which student in Junior School will read the most?

You can play a big part in your children's future by encouraging them to be part of this positive initiative.
We look forward to seeing as many of our students as possible take part in the 2025 Premier's Reading Challenge.
