Upper Coomera State College works in collaboration with leading tertiary providers, government and industry groups to ensure that our students are well equipped to enter an ever evolving job market.
In December 2015, the government released the National STEM School Education Strategy 2016 – 2026, stating a 'renewed national focus on STEM in school education is critical to ensuring that all young Australians are equipped with the necessary STEM skills and knowledge that they will need to succeed'.
In response to this, Upper Coomera State College established the STEM Academy, designed for students who excel in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The STEM Academy will cultivate the innovative minds of students through focused cross-curricular activities designed to extend students ability and increase their future potential in STEM pathways. Classes will be taught by expert teachers and supported by Griffith University to ensure students are well equipped for their pathway through to University and beyond.
The STEM Academy will partner with Griffith University, providing the following:
- STEM Excellence Program
- Prep to Year 12 STEM Education including Engineering Electives, Robotics programs, Science Clubs plus more
- Guaranteed University Pathways
Students will be Challenged, Collaborative and Inspired to succeed in STEM.
