Upper Coomera State College (UCSC) has established itself as a school of excellence in the delivery of the pedagogical framework, Dimensions of Learning (DoL). In partnership with the Australian National Schools Network, UCSC delivers DoL professional development to a large number of schools in the South East region and broader community.
UCSC is committed to providing every student with personalised learning opportunities. To extend high achieving students and to build a culture of academic excellence, our secondary school has introduced a targeted program: Extension Masterclasses and QCS Master Classes for our senior students, which are delivered by Mighty Minds.
UCSC also provides support programs prep to year 12 in the areas of literacy and numeracy for those students needing extra support. This ensures all of our students have the tools and skills necessary to be successful in their chosen learning pathway.
Aligned with the College motto, ‘Learning Pathways to the Future’, the College established an innovative Education and Career Planning Program (ECP) 7-12 in 2012. ECP includes an extensive career education pathways program, delivered by trained teachers, in the lead up to an ECP interview, providing opportunities for five staff to engage with parents/carers and students in meaningful conversations about each student’s education, pathways and career goals. Every student 7-12 has an individual education and career plan which is tracked and adjusted each year.
