NEW STAGE B PRINCIPAL FOR 2010
In exciting news for Chisholm Junior School, an additional Principal has been appointed for 2010. Julie Anne McGuinness will be joining the Junior School team as Principal of Stage B. Whilst the Junior School will still remain in its current form with Stage A and B, the addition of a Principal will allow greater focus on learning and more direct support for staff and students. Julie Anne is excited about joining UCSC and is eager to get to know all of our wonderful staff, students and families next year.

CHISHOLM JUNIOR SCHOOL CELEBRATION EVENING
The Celebration Evening for Chisholm Junior School will be held on Monday 30th November, 6.30pm in the UCSC Performing Arts Centre. Tickets will be available only to those families of students who are receiving awards or performing on the night.
An invitation letter will be sent home to all those families whose children will be attending on the night very soon.
YEAR 6 GRADUATION
The Year 6 Graduation will take place on Wednesday 2nd December at 11.00am in the UCSC Performing Arts Centre. All year 6 students will be required to wear school uniform.
A graduation afternoon will be held the same afternoon from 3.30 – 5.00pm in the UCSC Sports Centre where students are invited to celebrate the end of their journey in Chisholm Junior School in a supervised setting. Students will not be required to wear school uniform to the afternoon celebration.
STAGE B SWIMMING CARNIVAL
The Stage B swimming carnival will be held this Friday 27th November. The carnival is being held at the end of this year due to the district trials being very early in 2010. The focus of the day will be on fun and participation. All students are encouraged to attend and support their house regardless of their ability level. Students are reminded to ensure they wear an appropriate hat, shirt and bring sunscreen for the day.
CULMINATING DATES FOR END OF TERM 4
Each year level will be holding culminating sessions to showcase the fantastic work they have been doing during the term. Parents and friends are invited to classrooms or alternate venues on these days to see first hand just how hard students have been working over the course of the term and what wonderful things they have achieved.

ENROLMENTS FOR 2010
We are currently taking enrolments for 2010 in all year levels, so if you know families that are new to the area, please let them know that UCSC is enrolling now.
ARE YOU LEAVING UCSC?
If you are moving away from Upper Coomera State College over the holidays please remember to let our Junior Administration know this and where your new destination is. This will allow us to provide all the necessary information to your child’s new school as soon as possible.

HEALTH SCREENING FOR ALL PREP YEAR CHILDREN
The Child Health nurse will commence Health Screening for all Prep Year children on Wednesday 18 November 2009. Health Screening enables health concerns to be addressed early, thus ensuring the best opportunity for learning. Screening includes vision and hearing, observation of growth and development, speech, language and social skills. If you wish to have your child participate in this very important health screening, please complete and sign the consent section of the Health History Card sent home with your child and return this to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible.
Children in Years 1 to 7 that may have a vision or hearing concern may also be seen by the nurse. Children may be referred by a parent or teacher however all children must have a Health History card completed and signed by the parent. AHealth History cardis available from the school office. Please return the completed card to the school office as soon as possible. All parents will be advised in writing of the outcome of your child’s screening.
