PARENTING RESOURCES IN THE ISC (LIBRARY)
Did you know that we are building up our Parenting Resources in the ISC (Library) at UCSC. Our latest asset is a series of Home Parenting Program listening CD’s and accompanying books, by Michael Grose. The topics include; Bring out the Best in Your Boys, Bring out Your Child’s Confidence, Bring out Your Child’s Resilience, Dealing with Sibling Rivalry, Bring out the Best in Your Teenagers, and Bring out Your Child’s Best Behaviour.
If you are interested in any of these CD’s, contact the ISC staff.
We all know that parenting is a huge job that does not necessarily follow guidelines, specific timelines, or come with a manual. However the more we listen or read articles about others’ experiences and ideas, the more confident we can become in dealing with our own family issues and feel happy that we are doing a great job.
Your partnership with your child’s class teacher is vital for creating a successful year. Also at the College we have a dedicated group of people who form our Student Welfare Team. If you would like to know more about how to maintain the health and wellbeing of your child you can make an appointment to see the guidance officers, school based youth health nurse, chaplain, or myself (behaviour support) by ringing Dallas on 55 807 651.
Our Parenting Matters articles this year will be excerpts from Michael Grose's Insights. I hope you enjoy them.
The expert behind the scenes

The information, tips and strategies are provided by Michael Grose, the first parenting educator to conduct a parenting seminar for Federal politicians in Parliament House Canberra. A former primary teacher, Michael has been providing support and advice for parents for 20 years through his books, seminars, parent courses and newspaper columns. He is highly-respected throughout Australia and internationally.
Here’s to a great year.
